I’m excited to write to you with plans for a Beth Sholom Synagogue trip to Israel, from Monday, December 23rd, 2019 through Thursday, January 2nd, 2020. A synagogue Israel trip is a wonderful opportunity for community building, and it offers a unique way to get to know the Israeli landscape, whether this is your first trip to Israel or if you’ve been many times.
We are already in the planning of an excellent itinerary with trip provider Israel Maven Tours and are putting together a trip that will be meaningful and fun for couples, singles, and families with children. We’ll celebrate Hanukkah together in Israel, we’ll meet people doing on-the-ground work to build bridges between communities, we’ll spend Shabbat in Jerusalem, and of course, we’ll engage with Memphis’ sister city, Shoham.
After the High Holy Days, we will have an information session to go over the itinerary, to speak about the cost and scholarships opportunities, and to answer any questions you might have about the trip. Registration will open in the late fall.
