Bar/Bat Mitzvah

Beth Sholom averages seven b’nai mitzvah a year, so each one is a very special event. Planning for your son or daughter’s bar or bat mitzvah begins two years in advance, and the bar or bat mitzvah receives individualized attention in preparing for the big day. Choosing a date is easy with our help (at least when it comes to choosing the parsha!).

To deepen the spiritual experience and ensure your familiarity and comfort in participating in the rituals, we conduct a series of family education programs leading up to b’nai mitzvah. Your child begins to study in earnest a year before the date. He or she will work with the Rabbi as well with volunteer tutors from our congregation to learn the service and Torah and Haftorah portions. The entire community is at your service, and we share the joy of your simcha.
